CBD isolate is isolated cannabidiol in powder form. I still remember my first jar of this fine white powder well. A friend pressed it into my hand and said: “This is the purest CBD you can get.” Honestly, I was sceptical. It looked more like a lab than like nature. But the more I looked into it, the clearer it became: this purity is what makes it special.
Many of us know CBD oil or flowers, but CBD isolate? To some, that sounds like something abstract.
What makes CBD isolate so special
CBD isolate is almost pure cannabidiol, with a purity of over 99%. No terpenes, no plant residues. You know what you have in your hand, without surprises.
Quality and purity
With CBD isolate in particular, it is important to check the label: CBD content in percent, quantity in grams and origin of the hemp.
CBD isolate and Swiss law
In Switzerland, hemp products with a total THC content of 1.0% or more fall under the Narcotics Act (Narcotics Directory Ordinance (BetmVV-EDI), SR 812.121.11, Annex 5, directory d, as of 13 March 2026). Cannabidiol itself is not listed in any directory of this ordinance. In Germany, the limit for industrial hemp is 0.3% THC (KCanG § 1 Nr. 9). You can read more about the Swiss limit in the article THC content below one percent.
