The birth of a vision
It was 2016 when a small group of hemp enthusiasts in Zurich put a bold idea into action: to bring cannabis out of the shadows and into the legal mainstream. The birth of Green Passion.
Right in the middle of the lively Lochergut, they opened their first store – the first of its kind in Zurich for legal cannabis products. The mission was clear: top Swiss quality, scientific expertise and an unshakeable passion for the hemp plant.
The beginning took courage, because nobody knew where the journey would lead. But the seed of Green Passion had been sown.
The fight for the freedom of hemp
Pioneering means facing up not only to the market but also to the law. Green Passion didn't shy away from fighting for the industry – and winning!
The legendary Kassensturz test: In 2019, Green Passion proved its quality. The product "Purple Haze" emerged as the test winner in the Kassensturz comparison and cemented the promise: trust through top quality.
Victory in court (2020): When the Swiss Federal Customs Directorate tried to impose tobacco tax on hemp flowers with a low THC content (<1%), Green Passion took the case to the Federal Supreme Court. And won! The ruling of January 2020 created important legal clarity for the entire Swiss CBD industry. A win for Green Passion, a win for all consumers.
