On October 22, 2023, there will be groundbreaking elections. The National Council and Council of States will be elected for the next four years. These four years will be crucial for the hemp industry and everyone who uses cannabis in Switzerland. During this time, a new cannabis law (parliamentary initiative Siegenthaler, 20.473) is set to be discussed and implemented by the National Council and Council of States. Up until the upcoming election, the National Council has a slim pro-hemp majority (a total of 51% yes or rather yes). Now it’s up to us to make sure that supporters of sensible hemp regulation remain the majority in parliament.
