Why buy cosmetics with CBD?

The connection between our skin's endocannabinoid system and cannabis

With an area of about two square meters, skin is the largest organ we have. It protects us from things like cold or heat and is essential for our survival. That's why it makes sense to take care of your skin and treat it well. Cannabinoids like CBD can also help with skin care. We'll try to explain how cannabis, cannabinoids, or CBD can support your skin. You can buy CBD cosmetics from DOLOCAN in our shop.

The endocannabinoid system and what it does

First, it's important to understand why cannabis can even have a positive effect on our bodies. Cannabinoids work through our own endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is part of our nervous system. So how does the ECS work? Basically, the ECS connects with cannabinoids like CBD, and that's how cannabis can help people with certain issues.

The ECS includes what's called endocannabinoids, which are made by our bodies and sometimes do the same job as cannabinoids. The most well-known endocannabinoid is called anandamide. For cannabinoids to work, there need to be special receptors that both endocannabinoids and cannabinoids can bind to.

These receptors are called CB1 and CB2 receptors, and they're found in pretty much every organ. CB1 receptors are mostly in the brain, but also in organs like the kidneys and intestines. The CB2 receptor is found in the central nervous system, among other places, and affects the immune system. These receptors are also found in our skin and can influence its condition.

A lot of people buy CBD cosmetics to give their skin a little extra care. The ECS regulates many functions of our skin, so cannabinoids like CBD together with the endocannabinoid system can also influence how our skin looks. Science backs up this idea and keeps checking it through different studies in various fields. According to COSING (Cosmetic ingredient database), CBD can have antioxidant effects and help with too much sebum (anti-sebum), and it's used for skin care and protection.

The CBD cosmetics from DOLOCAN® are also vegan and contain only natural CBD.

The antioxidant effect of CBD

Our skin regularly deals with all kinds of stress. For example, reactive oxygen species (ROS) can form. High ROS levels can lead to oxidative stress, which can damage cells, cause inflammation, and lead to other skin problems. Usually, the skin can keep ROS levels in check with certain mechanisms like antioxidant systems. In this context, CBD acts as an antioxidant.

In our CBD shop, you'll find everything from CBD oil and CBD cosmetics to CBD flowers—basically everything you can buy in the CBD world. Of course, only with the highest quality standards, just like you're used to in Switzerland. Naturally, the CBD in our creams and oils interacts with your body's own endocannabinoid system.
