CBD weed is everywhere these days. We (Tilllate.ch) are testing nine strains of legal weed for you, checking taste, price, and quality to crown the best dope in Switzerland.
CBD weed is the new gold. Or at least it seems that way. Almost every week, your trusted hemp shop has new CBD products, and hemp pharmacies, couriers, and boutiques are booming like a pro grow-op. The Federal Office of Public Health currently knows of around 100 tobacco substitute products made from low-THC cannabis.
Even we (Tilllate.ch), self-proclaimed experts on legal, low-THC weed, are starting to lose track. To shed some green light on the confusion, we went on a big tour, put together a nice selection of hemp buds, and tested them. You can thank us later.
Under the microscope
We tested a total of nine strains for taste, consistency, smell, price, and overall impression. The effects were tough to judge—anyone with friends who smoke knows that natural substances hit everyone differently. So, of course, this test is a bit subjective.
– we're not doing a “Kassensturz” here or anything. Still, we tried to keep things as scientific as possible, grabbing not just our most CBD- and weed-savvy editors, but also our buddy from Thurgau and semi-pro joint roller DJ Katheter to help out.
“Is that perfume or weed?”
First, we tested the smell: The feedback ranged from “Smells like firewood” to “Is that perfume or weed?” to “That smells exactly like real weed.”
Next up was consistency. We looked at things like stickiness, moisture, and how many little stems and leaves snuck into the pack.
For the smoke test, we always rolled a joint with the same filter and paper, using 0.4 grams of cannabis. We also tried the legal dope in a vaporizer (that’s the inhaling gadget for stoners) and asked a weed newbie for their opinion. The result: Some strains smell like turmeric, others like perfume, and a few actually smell just like really good weed.
