Moonrocks combine CBD in three forms: flowers, extract, and kief. The result is a product with a particularly high CBD content. That’s why its effects can be more pronounced than with other CBD products.
Quick facts about Moonrock Weed
- made from CBD flowers, CBD extract, and kief
- looks like moon rock, hence the name
- higher CBD content compared to pure flowers
- complex, intense flavor
What exactly is Moonrock Weed?
Moonrock literally means "moon rock." But no, CBD Moonrocks aren’t imported from outer space (even though that would be pretty cool). It’s a fusion of three different CBD sources, coming together to make a particularly rich product.
Where does Moonrock Weed get its name?
Moonrock Weed is often compared visually to stones that look like they came straight from the moon – and that’s exactly where the name comes from. This unique look comes from the kief coating.
The first part of the name also comes from the feeling some users describe: "As if you’re flying to the moon."
This is how Moonrock Weed is made
To make Moonrock Weed, you need CBD flowers, cannabis extract, and kief. But let’s start at the beginning.
First, the ideal CBD flowers are selected. It’s important that they contain as much resin and a stable terpene profile as possible. They should also be dense and compact.
These are then placed in a bath of cannabis extract. There, they soak it up. The right balance is key here. If the flowers absorb too much liquid, the Moonrock Weed can become too hard later. If they take up too little extract, the Moonrocks CBD may crumble apart.
The extract boosts the potency of the product and also acts as a binder for the kief that comes next.
Quick note: Kief is made from dried flowers that have been finely sifted, making it especially pure. "Pure" here means that the sifted product left behind has a particularly high CBD content. Almost only resin remains, which ends up looking like crystalline powder. All other plant parts are sifted out.
The soaked flowers are then rolled in the resulting kief, giving the Moonrock Weed an extra dose of CBD. The finer the kief, the more evenly the coating turns out.
What does Moonrock Weed taste like?
The taste of Moonrock Weed is mainly shaped by the cannabis extract and kief. Usually, it has very full, resinous flavors. Depending on the strain, it can also be slightly sweet or citrusy.
Compared to CBD flowers, Moonrocks CBD tastes more complex and intense.
How to spot good quality CBD Moonrocks in Switzerland
- Even surface: A fine-grained coating is a sign of high-quality kief. Ideally, it looks like fine sand. This covers the Moonrocks CBD especially evenly.
- Almost seamless shell: The kief coating should be as continuous as possible. If there are large gaps, it means it didn’t spend enough time in the CBD extract bath.
- Not too hard, not too crumbly: If the Moonrock Weed is very hard, it was in the CBD extract too long and will be hard to portion. If it crumbles almost instantly, it didn’t spend enough time in the extract bath and has a lower CBD content.
- No lightweight: Very light Moonrock Weed can indicate a low CBD extract content or poor-quality flowers.
CBD Moonrocks in Switzerland as a particularly rich product
If you choose Moonrock Weed, you’re picking a product with especially high CBD content. Depending on the quality of the individual components, the product can contain up to 70 percent CBD.
You’ll notice this in its intense flavor. The exact aromas – for example, especially resinous, floral, or citrusy – depend on the chosen strain.
