Another popular way to enjoy the benefits of CBD is with what's called CBD oil. CBD oil contains the cannabinoid cannabidiol, which is also known as CBD. To turn CBD into oil form, an extract is first made from the hemp plant or from CBD flowers.
The extracts are usually made with gas or other solvents. A super modern method is extracting CBD with CO2. CO2 extraction is really efficient and that's why it's popular in the industry. This process separates the plant's compounds, so they can be used or processed in a concentrated form.
After the extract is made, there's another step needed after extraction: distilling the extract. The extract needs to be distilled to remove unwanted substances like THC. For this, a so-called short path distillation is used, which is also known as "short path distillation" in English.
With extracts, you can either separate just the CBD or all the compounds from the plant, which also includes terpenes, flavonoids, and other substances in the extract. This type of extract is called a full-spectrum extract because it captures the whole range of the plant.
A distiller is also used here to remove the substances from the extract that aren't wanted. In our CBD shop, we focus on full-spectrum CBD oil. That way, all the important compounds are included in the CBD oil.
