FAQ
A widespread form of consumption of dried cannabis flowers is to smoke them ground, often mixed with tobacco, in a ‘joint’. In most countries, however, mixing with tobacco is not common. Tobacco and cannabis do not belong together because tobacco, for example, alters the effect and flavour of cannabis. There are also studies that suggest that smoking pure cannabis does not impair lung function, or not nearly as much as mixed consumption with tobacco. Another form of consumption would be vaporising (‘vaporising’). In our online shop you will find suitable devices as well as literature and further information on the subject. Although our cannabis flowers in raw form are not authorised as a foodstuff, many customers tell us about their positive experiences when consuming cannabis orally.
Whether as biscuits or tea. The human digestive tract is generally excellent for absorbing active ingredients, but the bioavailability of cannabinoids here is only 5-10%. This is partly due to the poor water solubility of cannabinoids and partly because the blood from the intestine first flows through the liver, where toxins from food are already partially broken down (‘first-pass effect’). Bioavailability can be increased to 10-20% by using fatty bases (e.g. milk, coconut oil). Another advantage of oral consumption over smoking is that no heat loss occurs and no cannabinoids are lost through exhalation.

The CBD oils and tinctures offered by Green Passion are hemp extracts from legal hemp varieties that contain various cannabinoids, in particular CBD - cannabidiol. Depending on the product, THC may also be present in the legally permitted concentration. We would like to point out that our products are currently neither authorised as medicinal products nor as foodstuffs. According to the Swiss Ordinance on Therapeutic Products, Green Passion is not authorised to make promises of cure or recommendations for the treatment of diseases or other ailments. Furthermore, we are therefore in fact not authorised to recommend the oral intake of the CBD extracts distributed by us or to make dosage recommendations. Further information worth knowing on this topic and the current state of research can be found, for example, in the book ‘CBD - Cannabidiol’, which can be obtained from our online shop.
An important distinguishing feature of CBD derivatives (extracts, oils, tinctures, concentrates, crystals, etc.) is the differentiation between ‘full spectrum’ products and ‘isolates’. In a full spectrum product, all the cannabinoids present are extracted from the source plant without separating them from each other. This creates the so-called ‘entourage effect’, which describes the interaction between the various cannabinoids. With an isolate, on the other hand, only the CBD is extracted from the source plant or separated from the other cannabinoids. Often, the pure CBD is then diluted again with other liquids to obtain the desired concentration.
We are often asked whether the consumption of our products can lead to a positive drug test (urine, blood or hair analysis) or whether the driving licence is at risk in the event of a check after previous consumption of legal cannabis products. In this regard, we would like to point out that most of our products contain low concentrations of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). However, the concentration of THC contained in our products is not high enough to cause a psychotropic effect and thus an inability to drive. According to the road traffic laws in force in Switzerland, however, a driver is deemed to be unfit to drive if THC is detected in the driver's blood above the applicable limit of 1.5 μg/L. We are aware of cases where an officially prescribed urine test has shown a positive result after consumption of our CBD products. However, subsequent blood and hair analyses have so far always been negative. To date, we have no knowledge of an actual driving licence withdrawal due to prior consumption of legal cannabis products. Nevertheless, we generally advise against driving a vehicle after consuming products containing THC.
Cannabis flowers with a THC content of <1% are categorised by the FOPH and the Directorate General of Customs as a tobacco substitute product and are legally equivalent to normal smoking tobacco. As a consequence, this means that legal cannabis can theoretically be smoked wherever it is permitted to smoke conventional cigarettes. However, it should be noted that the social acceptance of public cannabis consumption is far from universal. So if you're in a public place or a garden restaurant, it's better to ask your neighbours nicely if it would bother them before you light up your legal CBD joint.
Remain calm, answer all questions and if your legal cannabis is confiscated or you even receive a fine, immediately request that a cannabinoid analysis be carried out. As soon as this has been carried out and the test result certifies that the product in question contains <1% THC, you will receive it back from the authorities. In many places, the police already have rapid tests that can be used to immediately determine whether the THC content is below or above 1%. We also recommend that you keep the receipt or invoice from Green Passion for evidence purposes and keep the goods in the original Green Passion packaging.
It should be noted that each country has its own laws regarding the THC content of cannabis and cannabis derivatives. In the EU, for example, the maximum permitted THC content in most countries is 0.2-0.3%. A large number of the products distributed by Green Passion Switzerland are therefore not legal abroad and we strongly advise against taking such products abroad without prior clarification.
The reason for this is that various authorities are of the opinion that CBD oil is a new foodstuff (‘novel food’) that requires authorisation. In addition, the THC content of our oils exceeds the permitted limit according to the Contaminants Ordinance, which is why our full-spectrum oils may not be advertised as foodstuffs and sold as such in Switzerland. This is despite the fact that the products are manufactured in accordance with food law standards. Our CBD oils from DOLOCAN are made from a hemp extract obtained by CO2 extraction and diluted with organic hemp seed oil as a carrier oil. It is therefore a pure hemp product. There are absolutely no solvent residues in our oils, nor are there any residues of pesticides, fungicides, insecticides, heavy metals, etc.
This explains the remark ‘Not recommended for consumption’ on our packaging. Further information on the subject of cannabis/CBD as a foodstuff can be found at the following link: https://www.greenpassion.ch/cbd-als-lebensmittel/
In this context, we also refer to the report that appeared in K-Tipp in November under the title ‘One third of hemp oils contain too little active ingredient’. The analysis results of our products regarding cannabinoid content and solvent residues, which we received from K-Tipp, can be viewed on our website.
