Due to its gel-like consistency, Boveda dries out very slowly. When Boveda is no longer gel-like but becomes hard it is used up and should be renewed. Shelf life is strongly influenced by the size of the storage box/humidor, the amount of material to be kept fresh and the ambient humidity and temperature. Depending on these factors, shelf life ranges from a few weeks to almost a year. The 67g Boveda pack can keep about 500 grams of material fresh.
